This fall has seen several area churches take time to have a retreat together. Above is a picture of Belmont Mennonite exploring the woods and the ropes course. I love to see the excitement of a church rolling into camp. Kids running around, parents trying to get oriented to new setting. The busy-ness of getting organized and ready for camp. The laughter of good stories told and re-told. The long walks with a good friend. Taking time to work through life struggles over coffee. That first canoe ride or fish caught. The beauty of the lake at sunrise. The bonds built at camp are not easily broken.
